offers a programme of educational and leisure activities
to people no longer in full time employment
Groups meet at weekly, fortnightly or monthly intervals. Educational qualifications
are not required for admission and none is awarded
What is essential is that members contribute their own experience, interests
and enthusiasms actively, so that they learn from each other
There is no distinction between those who learn and those who teach; the leader
in one group may well be a student in another
North Down and Ards U3A
is autonomous,
but is affiliated to a nation-wide and indeed international movement
